Do you have a project involving BauBuche?
We would be happy to advise you.
The invisible danger - until it becomes reality
BauBuche looks like wood - but behaves quite differently.
BauBuche looks like wood - but behaves quite differently.
The tender has been issued. It's about BauBuche - large quantities, complex requirements, short timings.
You know: That sounds good at first. But without the right partner, it quickly becomes stressful.

Because BauBuche does not forgive mistakes:
Standard machine settings?
Do not work.
Normal joinery machines?
Overburdened by the hardness and density.
Drilling, milling, sawing?
Without specialised technology, heat and flying sparks are generated - with a serious risk of fire as a consequence.
And even if the processing is successful:
Without proper protection, BauBuche can quickly absorb moisture on the construction site and lose quality.
With over 3,000 m³ of spruce and 1,000 m³ of BauBuche processed every year, we know what is important - technically, logistically and in detail. So that you have your components on the construction site on time - and your project runs smoothly and stress-free.

BauBuche as you need it - precise, punctual, problem-free.
X-Cam® turns a difficult material into a simple decision.
Because we ensure that you can safely accept and reliably complete even demanding BauBuche projects - without any production risk, machine conversions or loss of time.
You receive customised components, manufactured exactly according to your plans - including steel connections, moisture protection, painting and packaging.

And because we know the characteristics of BauBuche inside out, we avoid typical mistakes in advance:
No loss of material.

With X-Cam, we have a strong and reliable partner at our side whom we can fully rely on for BauBuche projects.
For a demanding project in BauBuche, DERIX was looking for a partner who could confidently deliver even complex requirements:
➤ 400 mm wide beams
➤ Angled drill holes and large openings in hard material
➤ Fully threaded screws up to 700 mm in length
X-Cam not only impressed in terms of production, but also through its absolutely uncomplicated cooperation.
‘Changes were implemented quickly and flexibly – and at no additional cost. The components delivered fit perfectly on the construction site. There were no complaints whatsoever.’
Stephan Thielen particularly appreciates the proximity and the opportunity to view production directly on site:
‘This quickly builds trust in the quality – and in the team.’
Conclusion: "If you depend on the highest quality, precision fit and adherence to deadlines in timber engineering, X-Cam is the right choice.

FAQ
Computer-aided manufacturing means that the processing of wooden components is carried out with the aid of computers. This allows the timber framing to be transferred from the computer to the machine automatically and with millimetre precision. The X (X-Cam) stands for flexible timber construction technology.
High-tech joinery means computer-controlled and fully automated joinery. Today, wood joinery is no longer done by hand. This computer-controlled process enables precise and accurate joinery of wood. This eliminates any inaccuracies that can occur with human labour. High-tech joinery works thanks to special joinery software installed on the computer. This software can be used to prepare the work for each piece of construction timber. The timber is then transferred directly to the machine at the touch of a button, where it is cut to size.
BauBuche is an exceptionally strong and precise material – which is precisely what makes it so challenging to process. The main challenges are:
- Hardness and density: BauBuche is significantly harder than softwood – conventional machines quickly reach their limits.
- Fault tolerance: BauBuche is not very forgiving of dimensional inaccuracies or incorrect processing – the risk of material loss and rework increases.
- Processing temperatures: Drilling and milling generate high heat if the wrong technique is used – this can lead to a fire hazard or material damage.
- Moisture sensitivity: Without proper protection, BauBuche easily absorbs moisture, which can impair dimensional stability and quality.
This is why special expertise, optimised machines and experience in handling this material are required – and this is exactly what X-Cam® specialises in.
In order for BauBuche to fully demonstrate its strengths, the following points are particularly important:
- Special tools and machines: Precise, low-risk cutting can only be achieved with optimised machines and adapted tools.
- Surface protection: Every BauBuche surface should be treated with a suitable protective coating (e.g. varnish) – this prevents moisture from penetrating and the quality from suffering on the construction site.
- Clean packaging & transport: BauBuche components should be protected, packaged and transported and stored in a manner that protects them from the weather as far as possible.
- Proper storage: Even on the construction site, it is important to protect BauBuche from rain and moisture until it is installed.
If you do not have a finished BVX file, we will need the following information/documents from you:
- Structural analysis
- Architectural plans
- Address (+construction site address)
- A rough schedule of when the work is to be carried out
- A telephone number where we can reach you if we have any questions
- Further information/requests regarding your project
The machine file is in BVX format for our Hundegger K2industry joinery machine. The BVX file is then imported into the Cambium control programme. There, the timber lists and machining operations are further optimised. We can of course also process older BVN files for the predecessor programme EKP in the new Cambium.
The main difference between the BVN and the new BVX format is that the components in the new BVX format know where they are located in the room. This means that we can display an overall view of the 3D model in the BVX model. With the BVN format, on the other hand, only the individual components can be displayed. The BVX format offers the great advantage that the machine operator can check connections and also has a much better overview for sorting the wood.
